The world of telecommunications and digital infrastructure never stands still and neither do we. It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a year since we were acquired by what is now the Freshwave Group. And what a year it’s been.
We’ve expanded our sites by over 1,000; we now have over 6,400 available in our portfolio where people live, work and play. We’ve moved up seven places in TowerXchange’s count of Europe’s tower companies, from 12th to 5th place. And we’ve undertaken some exciting projects, such as helping to ensure that fans at Twickenham Stadium enjoy excellent mobile network connection, even with over 80,000 event attendees.
The backing of the Freshwave Group and its resources has allowed us to work in new ways which benefit our customers. We’ve developed new business models for customers that will allow them to more easily upgrade their mobile sites and bring the newest technology to their customers in the future.
And we’re also enjoying collaborating with other parts of the group on shared projects, such as our rooftop campaign which is currently underway.
While the past few months have of course been dominated by Covid-19, it’s been inspiring to see how the telco sector has pulled together. We’ve been busy working both with the mobile network operators and our property clients to make sure that the UK stays connected.
We’re looking forward to seeing what the next 12 months will bring, as there is never a dull moment in our industry.
